Delete Your Account
Last updated November 4, 2026 · Version 2026-11-04
This page explains how to delete your account in the Stock & Savor app, made by Stock & Savor LLC, and the data that goes with it. You can do it in the app, or ask us by email if you no longer have the app.
In the app
- Open Stock & Savor and go to Account.
- Tap Account & Security.
- Tap Delete Account and type DELETE to confirm. You may be asked to sign in again first.
If you're the Head Squirrel of a family kitchen that others are in, the app asks you to hand it over to another member or close it first.
Without the app
Email privacy@stockandsavor.app from the email address on your account (for Google sign-in, your Google address) with the subject "Delete my account". We'll reply to that address to confirm it's you, then delete the account within 30 days and let you know when it's done.
What's deleted from our servers
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your sign-in, email, name and account settings, your list of kitchens, and any test plan | The live account is deleted as soon as deletion finishes; if it's interrupted, the app asks you to try again. Google says Firebase removes sign-in data from its live and backup systems within 180 days and keeps sign-in IP logs for a few weeks. |
| Your private kitchen: foods, places, place photos, custom foods, the grocery list, your recipe book and its change records | Deleted |
| A family kitchen you own that nobody else is in, or only Visiting Squirrels are | Closed (guests' stays end) and deleted, with its photos and invitations |
| Your star ratings and "made it" marks | Deleted; the public totals update at their next daily refresh |
| Diets and allergies, and your choices about sharing them | Deleted |
| Notification registrations and settings for your phones | Deleted, and no new notifications are sent to the account. One already sent may still arrive shortly after. Food reminders and cooking alarms are set on each phone and stop when you uninstall the app or clear its data. |
| Problem reports and their recordings | Deleted |
| Records of your AI reads and suggestions (video, photo and Stocky): each read's record, monthly totals and limits | Deleted |
| Admins' alerts about heavy video-read use that name your account | Deleted |
| Ask Stocky records: question receipts, daily and monthly totals, limits, and any answers you reported | Deleted |
| Your agreement records (which versions of the Terms, these policies and Ask Stocky's consent you agreed to, and when) | Deleted from our servers; the phone you delete from removes its own entries for the account too |
| Your name and nickname in family kitchens you were in | Removed from the member list, so refreshed views show a generic name |
What stays on our servers
- Records that the account was deleted: your account ID and the date, with no email or kitchen content, kept so an old sign-in can't be used again and your ratings and diets aren't refilled by mistake. We keep them with no end date.
- What you added to a family kitchen stays for the other members while the kitchen exists: food and places (each with your account ID as the last one to change it), comments and votes with the name saved when you wrote them, meal requests until two days after their day, "Requested by" notes with your name in the family's plan, recipe copies you shared (up to 90 days), and invitations or ownership offers you made (with your name removed). A former-member record under your account ID, with your role, dates and any guest stays but no name, stays with the kitchen.
- A family kitchen's change records. A food removed from it is hidden, but its details stay in sync records until the kitchen is deleted. Change records can include comment or grocery list text: newer comment-change records are deleted after about 30 days; older ones and other change records can stay while the kitchen exists while the kitchen exists.
- Family notifications waiting to send, which can include names and what the notification was about. They're deleted two days after they're sent or dropped.
- Recipes read from public videos with Premium, kept for anyone importing the same post for up to 180 days. New ones don't include your account ID, and your read's own records are deleted with your account.
- Rating totals, and the title and link of an imported recipe you were first to rate, which stay with those totals while someone else's rating remains.
- Server logs for up to 30 days, and deleted files (photos and recordings), which we can recover for 7 days. Deleted database records can be read back for up to an hour.
- While the app is in testing, the record approving your account as a tester, kept under your account ID.
Daily cleanups delete eligible data in batches, so deletion can take longer, especially during a backlog.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Google Play subscription. If you subscribed through an app store, cancel it there to stop future charges.
Data on your phone
When you delete your account in the app, that phone signs out, stops getting notifications, and removes what it kept for the account:
- its copy of your kitchens and any changes not yet sent, with the grocery list, places and drafts;
- the account's recipe book and family recipe notes, and its meal plans;
- diets and allergies, your ratings, reminder settings and the invite codes it made;
- the words voice heard in the last 24 hours, and problem reports that weren't sent yet, with their recordings; and
- the small file for background updates with your account ID and kitchen names.
Your other phones remove the same files the next time they open signed in to the account and our servers confirm it's deleted. On a phone that doesn't open again, clear the app's data or uninstall the app there.
What the phone keeps for itself stays until you delete it, clear the app's data or uninstall the app: the kitchen you keep without an account, recipe photos and video recipes it downloaded (shared by every kitchen on the phone), cook history, taste preferences, Stocky's suggestions, settings, and voice recordings for replay until they expire. If you never made an account, there's no account or cloud kitchen to delete. Phone backups leave out the account's files and your diets and allergies; they can include the kitchen you keep without an account and the phone's settings, and uninstalling doesn't erase them, so delete them in your backup settings if you want them gone.
Deleting some data, not your account
Removing a food hides it; its details can stay in the kitchen's sync records as described above. To ask us to delete health details left in shared content or reports, email us (see our Consumer Health Data page). In the app you can delete foods and places, clear your diets and allergies, remove your comments and ratings, or leave a family kitchen. You can also stop sharing a place photo: the kitchen loses access at once, the uploaded copy is deleted after seven days (and can be recovered by us for seven more), and members' phones may keep copies they already downloaded. Signing out keeps your saved items on that phone. To delete something else, such as a problem report, email us and we'll look into it and reply.
